Tuesday September 14th

Read: Luke 7:36 – 50

Learn: This woman who washed the feet of Jesus did so by faith. She was a prostitute, who knew that she had done many wrongs. Yet she also had heard of this Jesus, who was a healer, and a forgiver of sins. She brought a flask of ointment, her dowry, to Jesus and anointed His feet with oil. This flask of oil was meant for her future husband. She believed so strongly in Jesus she was willing to give up her dowry. Most pharisees, the so-called religious men, would have rejected this woman outright. But Jesus not only accepted her but forgave her sins as well.

Reflect: Do you have faith like the woman in Luke 7? Will you sacrifice everything, even your future, to Jesus, knowing that He alone came to give forgiveness of sins?

Pray: God, by faith I ask you to forgive all my sins. I ask you to help me sin no more. I commit to follow you all the days of my life. Protect me from temptation. Break my sinful habits. Tear down the idols in my life that have become more important to me than you. In Jesus name, Amen.
