Wednesday October 20th

Read: 2 Corinthians 12:7-10

Learn: Paul lets us know through his letters that he had a “thorn”, a weakness of some sort that gave him pain. He pleaded with God several times to take away this pain from him. But God refused. Instead, God told him that His strength was made perfect in his weakness. So often we beg God to take away our pain, our struggles, and our difficulties. But sometimes we must understand that our pain has a purpose and if God chooses not to take it away there must be a reason. It can be hard to see this reason in the moment, during our pain. We must recognize that God is sufficient for us no matter what.

Reflect: Do you believe that God is enough even when you are in pain? Do you trust that God is allowing you to experience discomfort for a reason? What if you decided to trust God with your struggles instead of just asking Him to take them away?

Pray: God, I want to trust that you are enough for me even when I am struggling. Please help me to have faith and realize that you are enough in all circumstances. In Jesus name, Amen.
