Monday October 18th
Read: 1 John 4:13-24
Learn: John’s insight in this book carries on from generation to generation. We have had these words for 2000 years, yet we often act like they don’t exist. John tells us that perfect love casts out all fear. Today fear takes on many forms. Fear of failure, fear we won’t have enough, anxiety, worry, and stress are all examples of how we let fear run our lives. But John says that perfect love casts out all fear. What is perfect love? The love of Jesus Christ. The love that caused our omnipotent God to send His only son to die for our sins. The knowledge of this love should cast out all fear in our lives. God’s love should be enough in all circumstances.
Reflect: What are you afraid of right now? Is God bigger then your fear? What if you embraced the perfect love of God and gave your fears over to Him? How would your life change?
Pray: God help me to see that your perfect love is all that I need to conquer fear in my life. I pray for you to break down barriers and show me how you are always working in my life no matter what. In Jesus name, Amen.
